Description
The Lacryma Christi Bianco Vigna Vulcano from the Campanian winery Villa Dora is a wine produced on the slopes of Vesuvius, in a land characterized by volcanic soils, which has centuries of noble tradition in the production of great wines. It is made with an equal blend of two white grape varieties historically present in the area, Coda di Volpe and Falanghina. This is a white wine of great typicity, with a Mediterranean and sunny character, with fresh citrus aromas and fragrant fruit, crossed by a mineral vein that recalls the volcanic terroir. The Lacryma Christi Bianco Vigna Vulcano is produced by a small-scale operation that represents an important reference point for the Vesuvius area. Villa Dora manages an estate under organic farming, set in a landscape and natural context of extraordinary beauty, among olive trees and maritime pines. The company has carefully preserved the old pergola Vesuvius plantings, where the main local varieties are cultivated. Always committed to enhancing native grape varieties, it produces very expressive wines capable of conveying the mineral and volcanic character of the Vesuvius habitat into the glass. Thus, labels rich in personality are born, rightfully part of the best expressions of the territory. The Vigna Vulcano Lacryma Christi Bianco from Villa Dora is one of the most beautiful expressions of the great white wines of the Vesuvius terroir. The vineyards are located in the Terzigno area, on the southeastern slope of the volcano, somewhat distant from the sea. They have an average age of over 30 years and produce particularly rich and intense grapes. After gentle pressing with skin maceration for a few hours, the must is fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Before bottling, the wine matures for a few months in steel tanks. The color is bright, luminous yellow. The bouquet recalls aromas of Mediterranean herbs, capers, yellow fruit, hints of dried fruit, and flint stone. The palate is harmonious and mineral, with a pleasantly fruity texture and a salty, well-balanced finish.
