Description

Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore "Marchesa Mariabella" comes to light from a precise interpretation desired by Camilla Rossi Chauvenet, firmly at the helm of the Massimago winery. Indeed, freshness is deliberately at the heart of this Veneto wine, in which a complex profile is combined with a touch of savoriness and a mix of lively aromas on the nose. A label that has positive expectations for the future, allowing itself the luxury of maturing further over time, guaranteeing pleasant surprises even more than five years from now. Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore "Marchesa Mariabella" originates from a blend of red grapes typical of the Veneto region, Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. These three varieties are grown by Massimago using the guyot system in vineyards located near Mezzane di Sotto, about 180 meters above sea level. The terroir is mainly clayey and marly. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks, performing a rather prolonged maceration; after a few months the fresh must is re-fermented thanks to the addition of Amarone pomace. The final aging lasts 12 months in both barriques and French oak tonneaux. This "Marchesa Mariabella" is a Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore that stands out for its decidedly bright color, which traces the ruby hue. Fragrant on the nose, which resounds with notes of small red berry fruit and spices, from which there is a hint of clove. On the palate it is medium-bodied, broad and rounded, with a fresh harmonious sip that reveals a soul in which the tannin offers itself gently to the drink. Immediacy and authenticity are the strengths of this label signed Massimago, in which the production philosophy of Camilla Rossi Chauvenet shines.
