Description
Arnaldo Caprai's Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Valdimaggio comes from vineyards in the Montefalco lands of Umbria. Sagrantino grapes are grown using the spurred cordon technique. The Sagrantino grapes are harvested and selected by hand, then the clusters are pressed in the winery. The must ferments inside temperature-controlled steel containers, with maceration on the skins for 30 days. The aging phase begins with an initial period of maturation in small French oak barrels, which lasts 24 months, and a subsequent bottle aging of about 8 months. Arnaldo Caprai's Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Valdimaggio is characterized by a bright, dense ruby red color. The nose offers delicious aromas of red fruit and cherry jam, delicate hints of sweet spices, refined notes of graphite. The palate is balanced and fresh, characterized by soft and silky tannins.
