Valpolicella Superiore

The Valpolicella Superiore from the Musella winery is a red wine bottled near Verona, in San Martino Buon Albergo, by the Pasqua family. On their estate, Emilio, Maddalena and Enrico cultivate vines grown according to the precepts of biodynamic agriculture, paying great attention to respect for the environment and with the desire to restore to the bottles the intrinsic qualities of the terroir in which they are born. For these reasons, this label, harmonious and fresh, is particularly suited to those who are not looking for a traditional style, but want to savour a rich concentrate of the aromas and flavours of this area. Valpolicella Superiore Musella is a blend of Corvina and Corvinone, in a higher percentage, which give the typical fruity notes, blended together with Rondinella and Barbera, which add more herbaceous and fresh perceptions. The vines are cultivated through the exclusive use of organic fertilisers, such as Cornoletame and Cornosilice, and have a low yield, giving birth to a few concentrated fruits that uniquely and faithfully reflect the territory of origin. The must obtained after destemming the grapes is left to macerate on the skins for 12/15 days at an uncontrolled temperature with periodic pumping over. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 6 months in large oak barrels and the same number in cement vats that give purity and depth. The Rosso Superiore from the Musella winery is ruby red in colour with violet hues. Fruity notes of cherry, currant and cassis prevail initially on the nose, which then veers towards more herbaceous and fine scents such as green almond and white pepper. The sip is a surprise, anticovenzionalità and territorial expression. The body is of medium structure and good intensity, underpinned by a balanced, soaring freshness. A long and persistent finish completes the tasting of this wine, leaving a pleasant fruity imprint in memory.
