Vietti
Vietti winery is located in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Langhe, one of the most renowned areas of the world for the production of great wines. Founded at the end of the 1800's by Mario Vietti, it started producing wines since 1919. A fundamental figure in the development of Vietti winery is certainly represented by Alfredo Currao, enologist who, since the fifties, selected and vinified grapes coming from the single vineyards, giving life, in 1961, to the first "cru": Barolo Rocche and Barbaresco Masseria. It is not surprising the importance given to Barolo and Barbaresco, symbols of Piedmont and of wine making Italy all over the world, majestic business cards of the greatness of Nebbiolo. However Piedmont is also synonymous of Barbera, another excellence of Vietti's production, and of precious white wines. In this regard it is worth remembering Alfredo Currao, nicknamed "father of Arneis" for having rediscovered this grape in 1967 and for having been the first to vinify it in pureness. After some decades, Arneis has become the most important white wine of Langhe and one of the most appreciated in Italy. Another peculiarity of Vietti's production is represented by designer labels, a valuable initiative which involved artists such as Gianni Gallo, Pietro Cascella, Pier Paolo Pasolini and many others. Men's competence and farsightedness have been able to join the infinite potentialities of Piedmont: this is how Vietti is now considered one of the most authoritative exponents in the variegated world of wine and represents in the best way the excellence of made in Italy bottles.
