Montevertine
The Montevertine estate, located in the Chianti hills in the municipality of Radda in Chianti, was purchased in 1967 by Sergio Manetti. Initially, Sergio bought the estate to renovate it and make it his vacation home, planting several hectares of vines to produce wine for himself and his loved ones. The first wine was produced and marketed in 1971 and won flattering praise. Enthused by the good success achieved, Sergio Manetti decided to devote himself exclusively to the production of quality wines, planting new vineyards and setting up new cellars. The success he achieved exceeded his wildest expectations. Today, just drinking a glass of Pergole Torte, of any vintage, ushers us into a world of its own, the world of Montevertine, made up of Sergio and his son Martino and winery oenologists Giulio Gambelli and Bruno Bini. In the wines of Montevertine, in fact, is contained the pride of these men, their love for the Tuscan land and their own vineyards and the magic of a terroir among the most beautiful and significant in the world. First with Sergio and now with his son Martino, the winery has sealed the link between Sangiovese and its place of choice, Chianti, to become a luminous interpreter and upstanding guardian of this extraordinary variety.
