Lunae Bosoni

The Lunae Bosoni winery stands at the gateway to Liguria on the border with Tuscany, in the lush Lunigiana area. A beautiful land, flourishing and rich in landscapes since ancient times, so much so that the invading Barbarians thought it was the great Rome. A history that also has ancient roots as far as viticulture is concerned, because it was precisely Liguria and especially these fertile lands that were identified by the Etruscans as one of the most suitable places for growing grapes. Lunae was an ancient Etruscan-Greek port, named after the ancient goddess of the moon, Selene. Bosoni, on the other hand, is the name of the family that has been producing wine under the Cantine Lunae banner for 5 generations, carrying on that long winemaking tradition of these places, based on the principles of ancient practices, the enhancement of local and forgotten grape varieties and respect for the cycles of nature. Quality and passion have always been the cornerstones of production that have consecrated the Lunae Bosoni wineries as a point of reference in the Ligurian wine scene. Lunae Bosoni sums up its philosophy of thought under three key words: Understand, Cultivate and Harvest. Understand the history and the land, cultivate the grapes and passions, and gather from tradition the keys for the future. Among the rows of vines, placed between the plains and hills and divided into small plots of 2-3 hectares, we encounter interesting and unobtainable varieties, such as Pollera Nera, Massaretta, Vermentino Nero and Albarola, alongside the undisputed protagonist of the area, Vermentino. Also of interest is Ca' Lunae, the old complex where the ancient cellar is located, where the wines mature and great bottles are stored, and a museum that traces the history of the success achieved by the estate. The wines of the Lunae line are influenced by the freshness of the Alps and the savoriness of the Ligurian Sea. They share a common hallmark of elegance and pleasantness to drink, making them easy to pair with different dishes, especially local ones, such as fish, pasta with pesto, focaccia, farinata or rabbit.
